From Traditional Sacred to Dixieland - It's PROCLAMATION BRASS!

This summer would have brought PROCLAMATION BRASS from Kalamazoo to the 2020 Plainwell Music Society Summer Concerts as one of the many talented groups helping celebrate what is the societies 30th year.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, instead of sitting by and letting the days go by, the Plainwell Music Society decided that they needed to change with the times as they upheld the GOALS that they have set forth for themselves:  to present a variety of music for local residents, to provide a venue for area musicians, to enrich local communities.

We are lucky to be able to share with all of you HERE on this VIRTUAL VENUE! It might not be under the band shell on a lawn chair, but we encourage you to pop up a chair in your yard and listen to this video of Proclamation Brass performing GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS.

"... Proclamation Brass is a Kalamazoo (MI) based group of men and women committed to our instruments, and to using those instruments to minister to local churches and our community.  We were founded November 30, 2004, when four men met at Russ’ Restaurant in Portage to discuss our vision of how we could combine our talents in a more effective way to further the Gospel of Christ through music.  We soon began rehearsing any music we could find that could be adapted to our unusual instrumentation (three trumpets and a tuba), and have been blessed to see God add to our numbers in His perfect timing. We have been privileged to minister in dozens of venues, mostly in the churches of greater Kalamazoo, but also in Mount Pleasant, Charlotte, Reed City, Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Lake City, and elsewhere.  In addition, we have provided special music for the national conference of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, for fundraisers for Child Evangelism Fellowship and Camp Beechpoint in Allegan, at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, and in several area assisted living and retirement facilities.  Since 2010 we have had a standing engagement to play for the City of Portage Christmas Tree Lighting festivities the first Saturday evening of December at Celery Flats Park. We hope our audiences find our music both enjoyable and uplifting, but our ultimate aim is to proclaim the praises of Jesus Christ and to direct the attention of our audiences to Him..."
